GIRIJAN CO-OPERATIVE CORPORATION LTD: BHADRACHALAM

The  Girijan Co-operative Corporation is a public Sector undertaking of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh established in the year 1956 for the Socio-economic up-liftment of Tribals in the State of Andhra Pradesh.  Thereafter on bifurcation it has registered as TSGCC Ltd., bearing  Regd No. TAB 620 on  August’2017.

  • OBJECTIVES :
  1. Procurement of Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP/MFP) collected by the tribals and Agricultural Produce (AP) grown by the tribal farmers duly paying them remunerative prices.
  2. Supply of  Essential  Commodities  under  the  Public   Distribution System(PDS)  and other Daily Requirements (DRs)  at reasonable prices to the tribal consumers  through        a  net   work   of   Daily   Requirement (DR) Sales   Depots   to  ensure  Food Security.
  3. To provide Short – Term Credit to the tribal farmers for their Seasonal Agricultural      Operation (SAO).
  4. Supply of Rice, Food Provisions and Cosmetics to TW Institutions working under
     the jurisdiction of ITDA., GCC also undertakes other Govt. activities which are conducive to  the promotion of economic interests and welfare of the Scheduled Tribes and for the attainment of the above objectives.

Chilly & Turmeric Processing Unit, Sudimalla:

The GCC has established Chilly &  Turmeric  Processing  Units at Sudimalla of GPCS Ltd., Yellandu for value addition of tribal produce under Integrated Action Plan for the year 2012-13.  The Processing units functioning  from August 2015. During the year  2022-23  a quantity of 914.68 Qtls.  of Chillies procured  & processed at Chilly Processing unit, Sudimalla of Yellandu.  At present the processed Chilly & Turmeric  powders were supplied to TW Hostels working under the jurisdiction of ITDAs at Bhadrachalam, Utnoor, Eturunagaram and Mannanuru of Telangana State.  The Unit is providing employment to (20) tribal families.
